In 2022, we were privileged to train Sheila Mawela from the Suurman community in Hammanskraal with our Enterprise and Supplier Development programme. Sheila’s remarkable journey, made possible through an enterprise development project from one of our clients, serves as a powerful testament to the extraordinary outcomes we strive to accomplish.
We provided assistance to Sheila through the following three key phases:
1: Crafting a Business Strategy
Developing a profitable business model within an ubuntu community.
Identifying a value proposition that caters to the community’s needs.
Formulating an effective pricing strategy for a profitable venture.
2: Establishing a Business Model
Creating a professional brand identity.
Designing and launching a website.
Establishing an online presence on Facebook and Google Maps.
Developing a comprehensive sales strategy.
Implementing operational systems.
3: Addressing Legalities and Compliance
Facilitating company registration.
Managing tax verification and clearance.
Issuing a share certificate.
Fostering a strong business culture.
Following the Enterprise and Supplier Development programme, Sheila successfully achieved her goals, producing and selling approximately 75 loaves of bread per day and generating a monthly turnover of around R30,000.
Sheila Mawela’s project was nominated for the African Gender Awards and secured the first-place position at the end of 2022. The African Gender Awards recognize businesses that drive positive change within their communities while advocating for gender equality and empowering women.
